  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [CROOKSTON; SCHOOL YEAR.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 126.12, 
  1.8   subdivision 1, independent school district No. 593, Crookston, 
  1.9   may begin the 1997-1998 school year the Wednesday before Labor 
  1.10  Day to accommodate the transition into the new high school and 
  1.11  the renovated junior high school building.
