  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the fair campaign practices act; 
  1.3             prohibiting use of the name, image, or voice of 
  1.4             certain candidates in public service messages or 
  1.5             advertising by state agencies; proposing coding for 
  1.6             new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 211B. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [211B.055] [PUBLIC SERVICE MESSAGES BY CERTAIN 
  1.9   CANDIDATES.] 
  1.10     The name, image, or voice of a candidate as defined in 
  1.11  section 10A.01, subdivision 10, must not be used in a public 
  1.12  service or advertising message published or broadcast by a state 
  1.13  agency.  However, the title of an office held by a candidate as 
  1.14  defined by section 10A.01, subdivision 10, may be used in such a 
  1.15  message.
