  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to traffic regulations; exempting vehicles 
  1.3             carrying milk from seasonal weight restrictions under 
  1.4             certain circumstances; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.5             1998, section 169.87, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 169.87, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 4.  [VEHICLES TRANSPORTING MILK.] A weight 
  1.10  restriction imposed under subdivision 1 by the commissioner of 
  1.11  transportation or a local road authority, or imposed by 
  1.12  subdivision 2, does not apply to a vehicle transporting a load 
  1.13  consisting only of milk from the point of production to the 
  1.14  point of first processing if, at the time the weight restriction 
  1.15  is exceeded, the vehicle is carrying milk loaded at only one 
  1.16  point of production. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.18     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
