A bill for an act
relating to metropolitan government; requiring the
Metropolitan Council and the Metropolitan Airports
Commission to submit proposed budgets to the
legislative committees; amending Minnesota Statutes
2004, sections 473.13, by adding a subdivision;
473.661, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 473.13, is
amended by adding a subdivision to read:

council adopts a final budget, the council must submit its
proposed budget to the chairs of the senate Finance Committee
and the house of representatives Ways and Means Committee.

Sec. 2.

Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 473.661, is
amended by adding a subdivision to read:

operating budget, the commission must submit the proposed budget
to the chairs of the senate Finance Committee and the house of
representatives Ways and Means Committee.

new text begin Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment
and applies in the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin,
Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.
