  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state government; appropriating money for 
  1.3             costs related to compliance with the Fair Labor 
  1.4             Standards Act.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [SCOPE.] The appropriations in this section 
  1.8   are in fiscal year 2002 to the commissioner of employee 
  1.9   relations, for allocation to state agencies for costs incurred 
  1.10  for back pay to employees, as required under the Fair Labor 
  1.11  Standards Act.  The commissioner of employee relations must 
  1.12  consult with the commissioner of finance to determine the amount 
  1.13  to be allocated to each agency from each fund. 
  1.14     Subd. 2.  [GENERAL FUND.] $....... is appropriated to the 
  1.15  commissioner of employee relations in fiscal year 2002 from the 
  1.16  general fund. 
  1.17     Subd. 3.  [OTHER FUNDS.] The amount necessary to pay state 
  1.18  agency employees back pay, as required under the Fair Labor 
  1.19  Standards Act, is appropriated to the commissioner of employee 
  1.20  relations from each other fund in the state treasury from which 
  1.21  employees who are due back pay under the Fair Labor Standards 
  1.22  Act are paid.
