  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing a land exchange 
  1.3             in Cook County. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [LAND EXCHANGE; COOK COUNTY.] 
  1.6      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 94.344, 
  1.7   subdivision 3, Cook County may, with the approval of the Land 
  1.8   Exchange Board as required under the Minnesota Constitution, 
  1.9   article XI, section 10, and according to the remaining 
  1.10  provisions of Minnesota Statutes, sections 94.342 to 93.348, 
  1.11  determine the value of the land to be exchanged that is 
  1.12  described in paragraph (b) by including the value of the 
  1.13  buildings and improvements located on the land. 
  1.14     (b) The land to be obtained by Cook County from the United 
  1.15  States in the exchange is all in Section 30, Township 66 North, 
  1.16  Range 4 West, described as: 
  1.17     (1) that part of Government Lot 6 described as follows: 
  1.18     Commencing at the point created by the intersection of the 
  1.19     north line of Lot 6 at the west line of the public landing 
  1.20     as the point of beginning; thence South on the west line of 
  1.21     said public landing tract a distance of 100.00 feet 
  1.22     (measured at right angles); thence West parallel to the 
  1.23     north line of Lot 6 for 215.00 feet; thence due North 
  1.24     100.00 feet to the north line of Lot 6; thence East on the 
  2.1      north line of Lot 6 a distance of 225.00 feet, more or 
  2.2      less, to the point of beginning, which is also described as:
  2.3      Assuming the north boundary of said Government Lot 6 to lie 
  2.4      South 88 degrees 30 minutes 00 seconds East from the iron 
  2.5      pipe which is on the east end of said north boundary, then 
  2.6      North 88 degrees 30 minutes 00 seconds West along said 
  2.7      north boundary a distance of 384.75 feet to the point of 
  2.8      beginning; thence South 16 degrees 30 minutes 00 seconds 
  2.9      West a distance of 103.06 feet; thence North 88 degrees 30 
  2.10     minutes 00 seconds West a distance of 215.00 feet; thence 
  2.11     North 00 degrees 30 minutes 00 seconds East a distance of 
  2.12     100.00 feet to a point which lies on the north boundary; 
  2.13     thence South 88 degrees 30 minutes 00 seconds East along 
  2.14     said north boundary a distance of 239.93 feet back to the 
  2.15     point of beginning; and 
  2.16     (2) that part of Government Lot 7 described as follows: 
  2.17     Assuming the south boundary of Government Lot 7 to lie 
  2.18     South 88 degrees 30 minutes 00 seconds East and from the 
  2.19     iron pipe which is on the east end of said south boundary, 
  2.20     run North 88 degrees 30 minutes 00 seconds West along said 
  2.21     south boundary a distance of 346.53 feet to the point of 
  2.22     beginning; thence continue North 88 degrees 30 minutes 00 
  2.23     seconds West along said south boundary a distance of 388.17 
  2.24     feet; thence North 03 degrees 16 minutes 36 seconds West a 
  2.25     distance of 183.65 feet; thence North 23 degrees 01 minute 
  2.26     18 seconds East a distance of 113.59 feet; thence North 68 
  2.27     degrees 27 minutes 48 seconds East a distance of 225.73 
  2.28     feet; thence North 75 degrees 27 minutes 57 seconds East a 
  2.29     distance of 88.62 feet; thence North 82 degrees 47 minutes 
  2.30     51 seconds East to the shore of Saganaga Lake; thence 
  2.31     southwesterly along the shoreline to a point which lies on 
  2.32     the north boundary of the county public landing; thence 
  2.33     South 38 degrees 19 minutes 12 seconds West along said 
  2.34     northerly boundary of the county public landing a distance 
  2.35     of 90 feet, more of less; thence South 57 degrees 28 
  2.36     minutes 36 seconds West along said northerly boundary of 
  3.1      the county public landing a distance of 169.25 feet; thence 
  3.2      South 47 degrees 38 minutes 48 seconds East along the 
  3.3      southwesterly boundary of the county public landing a 
  3.4      distance of 92.42 feet back to the point of beginning.
