  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to Native American Indians; establishing the 
  1.3             Coldwater Springs Traditional Cultural Property 
  1.4             Preservation; proposing coding for new law in 
  1.5             Minnesota Statutes, chapter 138. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [138.767] [TRADITIONAL CULTURAL PROPERTY 
  1.8   PRESERVATION.] 
  1.9      Subdivision 1.  [RECOGNITION OF COLDWATER SPRINGS.] The 
  1.10  state recognizes Coldwater Springs, in Hennepin county, as a 
  1.11  traditional cultural property which is entitled to preservation 
  1.12  and protection by the state historic preservation officer, the 
  1.13  Minnesota Indian Affairs Council, the Minnesota department of 
  1.14  transportation, and other state agencies.  Any construction 
  1.15  project which impacts the flow of Coldwater Springs must comply 
  1.16  with Presidential Executive Order 13084. 
  1.17     Subd. 2.  [CONFORMING LAWS.] State laws and projects 
  1.18  affecting traditional cultural properties must comply with 
  1.19  United States Code, title 25, chapter 32, section 3001, et seq.  
  1.20     Subd. 3.  [CITATION.] This section may be cited as the 
  1.21  "Traditional Cultural Property Preservation Act."
