  1.2             relating to education; providing for declining pupil 
  1.3             unit aid for independent school district Nos. 592, 
  1.4             Climax; 2171, Kittson Central; and 2856, 
  1.5             Stephen-Argyle Central. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [FISCAL YEARS 2000 to 2002 DECLINING PUPIL UNIT 
  1.8   AID; CLIMAX, KITTSON CENTRAL, AND STEPHEN-ARGYLE CENTRAL.] 
  1.9      Subdivision 1.  [FISCAL YEAR 2000.] For fiscal year 2000 
  1.10  only, independent school district Nos. 592, Climax; 2171, 
  1.11  Kittson Central; and 2856, Stephen-Argyle Central are eligible 
  1.12  for declining pupil unit aid equal to the product of the general 
  1.13  education formula allowance for fiscal year 2000 times 75 
  1.14  percent of the difference between the districts' actual pupil 
  1.15  units for the 1996-1997 school year and the districts' actual 
  1.16  pupil units for the 1999-2000 school year. 
  1.17     Subd. 2.  [FISCAL YEAR 2001.] For fiscal year 2001 only, 
  1.18  independent school district Nos. 592, Climax; 2171, Kittson 
  1.19  Central; and 2856, Stephen-Argyle Central are eligible for 
  1.20  declining pupil unit aid equal to the product of the general 
  1.21  education formula allowance for fiscal year 2001 times 50 
  1.22  percent of the difference between the districts' actual pupil 
  1.23  units for the 1996-1997 school year and the districts' actual 
  1.24  pupil units for the 2000-2001 school year. 
  1.25     Subd. 3.  [FISCAL YEAR 2002.] For fiscal year 2002 only, 
  2.1   independent school district Nos. 592, Climax; 2171, Kittson 
  2.2   Central; and 2856, Stephen-Argyle Central are eligible for 
  2.3   declining pupil unit aid equal to the product of the general 
  2.4   education formula allowance for fiscal year 2002 times 25 
  2.5   percent of the difference between the districts' actual pupil 
  2.6   units for the 1996-1997 school year and the districts' actual 
  2.7   pupil units for the 2001-2002 school year.
