relating to the state budget; providing continuing appropriations for the operation
of state government under certain conditions; proposing coding for new law
in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 16A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin If an appropriation of a specific amount for a specific fiscal year, commonly known
as a direct appropriation, is not amended, superseded, or eliminated by a law enacted by
the legislature before July 1 of an odd-numbered year, the appropriation continues in
the next and subsequent fiscal years until amended, superseded, or eliminated by a law
enacted by the legislature. An appropriation that is designated as onetime or is onetime in
nature is considered to be eliminated by law at the end of the fiscal year or biennium for
which it was made.
