  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state government; requiring the 
  1.3             commissioner of economic security to administer 
  1.4             certain programs. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [ECONOMIC SECURITY; PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding other law to the contrary, the following 
  1.8   programs shall be administered by the commissioner of economic 
  1.9   security: 
  1.10     (1) Minnesota economic opportunity grant program (MEOG); 
  1.11     (2) low-income home energy assistance program (LIHEAP); 
  1.12     (3) emergency shelter grants program; 
  1.13     (4) rural housing assistance and stability program; 
  1.14     (5) transitional housing; 
  1.15     (6) supplemental assistance for facilities to assist the 
  1.16  homeless; 
  1.17     (7) Minnesota food shelf program; 
  1.18     (8) emergency food assistance program (TEFAP), commodities 
  1.19  and soup kitchen food bank; 
  1.20     (9) community food and nutrition program; 
  1.21     (10) community service block grant program (CSBG); and 
  1.22     (11) weatherization programs, including CIP, oil, and 
  1.23  propane programs. 
  1.24     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.25     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
