  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to game and fish; permitting taking of fish 
  1.3             without a license for persons age 65 or over; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1996, sections 97A.451, subdivision 
  1.5             2; and 97A.475, subdivision 6; repealing Minnesota 
  1.6             Statutes 1996, section 97A.451, subdivision 7. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 97A.451, 
  1.9   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 2.  [RESIDENTS UNDER AGE 16 AND OVER 65; FISHING.] A 
  1.11  resident under the age of 16 years or age 65 or over may take 
  1.12  fish without a license.  
  1.13     Sec. 2.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 97A.475, 
  1.14  subdivision 6, is amended to read: 
  1.15     Subd. 6.  [RESIDENT FISHING.] Fees for the following 
  1.16  licenses, to be issued to residents only, are: 
  1.17     (1) to take fish by angling, for persons under age 65, $13; 
  1.18     (2) to take fish by angling, for persons age 65 and over, 
  1.19  $4.50; 
  1.20     (3) to take fish by angling, for a combined license for a 
  1.21  married couple, $17.50; 
  1.22     (4) (3) to take fish by spearing from a dark house, $13; 
  1.23  and 
  1.24     (5) (4) to take fish by angling for a 24-hour period 
  1.25  selected by the licensee, $7.50. 
  1.26     Sec. 3.  [REPEALER.] 
  2.1      Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 97A.451, subdivision 7, is 
  2.2   repealed.
