  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; appropriating money 
  1.3             to enhance the West Seventh Street/Gateway area. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION FOR ST. PAUL W. 7TH 
  1.6   ST./GATEWAY.] 
  1.7      $700,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2000 from the 
  1.8   general fund to the city of St. Paul for the enhancement of the 
  1.9   West Seventh Street/Gateway area, which serves as a major 
  1.10  transportation and commercial corridor for visitors from the 
  1.11  Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Mall of America, and 
  1.12  other destinations.  The appropriation may be used to make 
  1.13  improvements to the public right-of-way including, but not 
  1.14  limited to, landscaping, lighting, signage, and roadway 
  1.15  improvements.  This appropriation must be matched one-for-one by 
  1.16  nonstate funds.
