  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to foodshelves; appropriating money for 
  1.3             certain foodshelf programs. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $3,316,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of the department of children, families, and 
  1.8   learning for the fiscal biennium ending June 30, 2005, for the 
  1.9   foodshelf programs under Minnesota Statutes, section 119A.44.  
  1.10  $250,000 of this amount must be used to purchase Minnesota-grown 
  1.11  products under Minnesota Statutes, section 17.102, to distribute 
  1.12  to foodshelves.  $500,000 of this amount must be used to 
  1.13  increase the distribution of supplemental foods to mothers, 
  1.14  children, and seniors.
