  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to crime victims; authorizing the director of 
  1.3             the Minnesota center for crime victim services to 
  1.4             adopt rules to administer the battered women's shelter 
  1.5             per diem program; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, 
  1.6             section 611A.372. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 611A.372, is 
  1.9   amended to read: 
  1.10     611A.372 [DUTIES OF DIRECTOR.] 
  1.11     In addition to any other duties imposed by law, the 
  1.12  director, with the approval of the commissioner of public 
  1.13  safety, shall: 
  1.14     (1) supervise the administration of per diem payments to 
  1.15  designated shelter facilities; 
  1.16     (2) collect data on shelter facilities; 
  1.17     (3) conduct an annual evaluation of the per diem program; 
  1.18     (4) report to the governor and the legislature on the need 
  1.19  for emergency secure shelter; and 
  1.20     (5) develop an application process for shelter facilities 
  1.21  to follow in seeking reimbursement under the per diem program; 
  1.22     (6) adopt rules to implement and administer sections 
  1.23  611A.37 to 611A.375.
