  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to higher education; appropriating money to 
  1.3             the board of regents for the Rural Minnesota 
  1.4             Technology Service Center at the Crookston campus. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $500,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the board 
  1.8   of regents of the University of Minnesota to establish the Rural 
  1.9   Minnesota Technology Service Center at the Crookston campus.  
  1.10  The money may be used to provide staff for technology support to 
  1.11  rural businesses and communities, and to enhance service 
  1.12  infrastructure.  This appropriation is available until June 30, 
  1.13  2003.
