  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; appropriating money for 
  1.3             flood water management in the Red river basin. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [RED RIVER BASIN FLOOD WATER MANAGEMENT; 
  1.6   APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $3,300,000 in fiscal year 2000 and $1,000,000 in fiscal 
  1.8   year 2001 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.9   commissioner of natural resources for grants to watershed 
  1.10  districts for flood water management in the Red river basin.  
  1.11  The commissioner shall cooperate with the board of water and 
  1.12  soil resources and the pollution control agency in making grants 
  1.13  under this section.  This appropriation is available until June 
  1.14  30, 2001.  The unencumbered balance in the first year does not 
  1.15  cancel but is available for the second year.
