A bill for an act
relating to public sector labor relations; changing provisions governing the
period after contract expiration; amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, section
179A.20, subdivision 6.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 179A.20, subdivision 6, is amended to
read:


Subd. 6.

Contract in effect.

During the period after contract expiration deleted text begin and prior
to the date when the right to strike matures, and for additional time if the parties agree

employees must be submitted to the legislature for approval or rejection in accordance
with section 3.855. Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, after contract expiration,
an employer may place employees covered by the expired contract on unpaid leave of
absence.
