A bill for an act
 relating to body art; adding a provision for license by reciprocity; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 146B.03, subdivision 8.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 146B.03, subdivision 8, is amended to read:


Subd. 8.

License by reciprocity.

The commissioner shall issue a technician's license to
a person deleted text begin whodeleted text end new text begin from another state if that individual has practiced body art for a minimum of
two consecutive years and new text end holds a deleted text begin currentdeleted text end license, certification, or registration deleted text begin from another
state if the commissioner determines that the standards for licensure, certification, or
registrationdeleted text end in the other jurisdiction deleted text begin meet or exceed the requirements for licensure stated in
this chapter and a letter is received from that jurisdiction statingdeleted text end that new text begin is current, unrestricted,
and new text end the applicant is in good standing.
