  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; creating an exemption from 
  1.3             the spend-up limit for nursing facility rates; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 256B.431, by 
  1.5             adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 256B.431, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 28.  [CHANGES TO NURSING FACILITY REIMBURSEMENT 
  1.10  BEGINNING JULY 1, 1999.] For the rate year beginning on July 1, 
  1.11  1999, a nursing facility in Houston county licensed for 68 
  1.12  nursing home beds on September 30, 1998, is exempt form 
  1.13  subdivision 26, paragraph (a).
