  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; appropriating money to the 
  1.3             chemical dependency fund and for detoxification 
  1.4             centers.  
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY FUND 
  1.8   SERVICES.] $....... is appropriated for fiscal year 1998, and 
  1.9   $....... is appropriated for fiscal year 1999 from the general 
  1.10  fund to the commissioner of human services to be allocated to 
  1.11  the chemical dependency treatment fund to provide chemical 
  1.12  dependency fund services to persons who are eligible for these 
  1.13  services under Minnesota Statutes, section 254B.04, subdivision 
  1.14  1, paragraph (b).  
  1.15     Subd. 2.  [DETOXIFICATION CENTER COSTS.] $....... is 
  1.16  appropriated for fiscal year 1998, and $....... is appropriated 
  1.17  for fiscal year 1999 from the general fund to the commissioner 
  1.18  of human services for grants to counties for detoxification 
  1.19  center costs.  
  1.20     Funds shall be allocated among counties for each fiscal 
  1.21  year in an amount equal to 40 percent of the county's actual 
  1.22  costs for detoxification admissions for the prior year or 40 
  1.23  percent of a maximum rate of $225 per day for the county's 
  1.24  detoxification admissions for the prior year, whichever is 
  1.25  less.  The commissioner may make pro rata reductions in the 
  2.1   allocations to the counties in order to stay within this 
  2.2   appropriation.
