  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to housing; appropriating money to the 
  1.3             housing finance agency for housing projects serving 
  1.4             veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $....... is appropriated from the general fund for transfer 
  1.8   to the housing development fund under Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.9   section 462A.20 to be used to provide loans and grants to assist 
  1.10  in the development, construction, acquisition, or rehabilitation 
  1.11  of supportive and permanent housing to serve veterans and single 
  1.12  adults who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.  The 
  1.13  loans or grants must be used for at least two housing projects 
  1.14  that: 
  1.15     (1) are located on property owned by the United States 
  1.16  Department of Veterans Affairs; 
  1.17     (2) provide or coordinate health and social services needed 
  1.18  by the residents; and 
  1.19     (3) are a collaborative partnership between community 
  1.20  agencies and local units of government or the federal government.
