  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; modifying the date for an 
  1.3             agreement; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 
  1.4             144.1202, subdivision 4. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 144.1202, 
  1.7   subdivision 4, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 4.  [AGREEMENT; CONDITIONS OF IMPLEMENTATION.] (a) An 
  1.9   agreement entered into before August 2, 2003 2006, must remain 
  1.10  in effect until terminated under the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, 
  1.11  United States Code, title 42, section 2021, paragraph (j).  The 
  1.12  governor may not enter into an initial agreement with the 
  1.13  Nuclear Regulatory Commission after August 1, 2003 2006.  If an 
  1.14  agreement is not entered into by August 1, 2003 2006, any rules 
  1.15  adopted under this section are repealed effective August 1, 2003 
  1.16  2006. 
  1.17     (b) An agreement authorized under subdivision 1 must be 
  1.18  approved by law before it may be implemented. 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.20     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
