  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; appropriating money for 
  1.3             the county biological survey. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [COUNTY BIOLOGICAL SURVEY; APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $1,050,000 in fiscal year 2002 and $1,050,000 in fiscal 
  1.7   year 2003 are appropriated to the commissioner of natural 
  1.8   resources for the systematic collection and interpretation of 
  1.9   data on the distribution and ecology of native plant 
  1.10  communities, rare plants, and rare animals that will provide a 
  1.11  foundation for managing and protecting critical components of 
  1.12  Minnesota's biological diversity.  $800,000 of this 
  1.13  appropriation is from the general fund, $800,000 is from the 
  1.14  Minnesota future resources fund, and $500,000 is from the 
  1.15  heritage enhancement account in the game and fish fund.  This 
  1.16  appropriation is available until June 30, 2003.
