A bill for an act
relating to education; human services; providing for a joint study of third-party
reimbursement for eligible special education services; requiring a report;
appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin Commissioners' study; report. new text end

new text begin The commissioner of education and the
commissioner of human services must jointly study the issue of third-party reimbursement
from private and public health insurance for health-related services included in the
individualized education programs for Minnesota students and develop recommendations
to increase the rate of third-party reimbursement. The commissioners must deliver a written
report on recommendations to the chairs and ranking minority members of the house of
representatives and senate committees having jurisdiction over education and human services
by February 1, 2020, including any statutory language necessary to implement their
recommendations.
