  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to insurance; requiring health plan companies 
  1.3             to include any licensed chiropractor in their 
  1.4             preferred provider network; proposing coding for new 
  1.5             law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 62Q. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [62Q.08] [CHIROPRACTORS.] 
  1.8      (a) A health plan company that requires an enrollee to 
  1.9   receive chiropractic services from a specific clinic or 
  1.10  chiropractor within a preferred provider network must accept as 
  1.11  a provider within that network any licensed chiropractor who: 
  1.12     (1) meets the health plan company's credentialing 
  1.13  standards; 
  1.14     (2) agrees to the terms of the health plan company's 
  1.15  provider contract; and 
  1.16     (3) agrees to comply with all managed care protocols used 
  1.17  by the health plan company. 
  1.18     (b) For purposes of this section managed care protocols may 
  1.19  include: 
  1.20     (1) limits on the number of visits to the chiropractor; and 
  1.21     (2) ongoing management and review by the health plan 
  1.22  company of the care provided by the chiropractor.
