A bill for an act
relating to state government; adding legislative members to the Capitol Area
Architectural and Planning Board; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section
15B.03, subdivision 1.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 15B.03, subdivision 1, is amended to read:


Subdivision 1.

Membership.

(a) The Capitol Area Architectural and Planning
Board, called the board or the CAAPB in this chapter, has deleted text begin tendeleted text end new text begin 12new text end members.

(b) The lieutenant governor is a member.

(c) The governor must appoint four members.

(d) The mayor of St. Paul must appoint three members with the advice and consent
of the city council. One of the mayor's appointees must be a resident of the planning
council district that includes the Capitol Area.

(e) The speaker of the house must appoint deleted text begin a memberdeleted text end new text begin two members new text end of the house of
representativesnew text begin , including the member from the district that contains the Capitol, new text end and the
president of the senate must appoint deleted text begin a senatordeleted text end new text begin two senators, including the senator from the
district that contains the Capitol

(f) Each appointee must qualify by taking the oath of office.
