A bill for an act
relating to appropriations; appropriating money for
the geothermal system for a cooperative joint
community learning center and health and wellness
center in Onamia.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $300,000, or as much of this amount as is required, is
appropriated in fiscal year 2006 from the energy and
conservation account in the general fund under Minnesota
Statutes, section 216B.241, subdivision 2a, to the commissioner
of commerce for a grant to Independent School District No. 480,
Onamia, for partial repayment of a loan to the city of Onamia
for a geothermal heating and ventilation system, including
acquisition of the well field site, for a cooperative joint
community learning center and health and wellness center. The
city and school district shall offer the design and the
facilities as a demonstration site for energy conservation and
efficiency.
