relating to education; suspending and restarting social studies standards review
cycle.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin SOCIAL STUDIES STANDARDS REVIEW AND REVISION.

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 120B.021, the commissioner of education
must suspend any ongoing review or revision of state social studies standards or
implementation of revised social studies standards. The commissioner must dissolve the
current social studies standards review committee and appoint new members to the committee
who must restart the process of reviewing and revising the social studies standards.
