A bill for an act
relating to tourism; appropriating money for tourism
marketing.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $14,500,000 in fiscal year 2006 and $14,500,000 in fiscal
year 2007 is appropriated from the general fund to the director
of Explore Minnesota Tourism for the purpose of marketing
Minnesota tourism. $6,000,000 in fiscal year 2006 and
$6,000,000 in fiscal year 2007 of the amounts appropriated are
contingent upon the provision of one-to-one matching funds,
cash, or in-kind, from private entities that have entered a
partnership with Explore Minnesota Tourism for purposes of
marketing Minnesota tourism. Any unexpended money from general
fund appropriations under this section does not cancel. This
appropriation shall become part of the office's base.
