A bill for an act
relating to state finance; requiring local government units to obtain reimbursement
for certain expenses from the Federal Emergency Management Agency; requiring
local government units to reimburse the federal Coronavirus Relief Fund with
certain funds received from the federal government.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Within 30 days after the date of enactment of this section, any local government unit
that has received funds from the federal Coronavirus Relief Fund must review all of its
expenditures of the funds to determine whether any amounts are eligible for reimbursement
provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). If a local government
unit determines that an expenditure may be eligible for FEMA reimbursement, the local
government unit must seek reimbursement of the expenditure and inform the commissioner
of management and budget within seven calendar days after making the determination.

A local government unit receiving reimbursement of expenditures from the federal
Coronavirus Relief Fund from the Federal Emergency Management Agency must provide
the reimbursement to the commissioner of management and budget within 14 days after
receiving reimbursement.
