A bill for an act
 relating to veterans affairs; authorizing the
carryforward of the unexpended appropriation for the
state soldiers' assistance fund; amending Minnesota
Statutes 2004, section 197.07.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 197.07, is
amended to read:


197.07 SOLDIERS' ASSISTANCE FUND DEPOSITED IN STATE
TREASURY.

in the state treasury and paid out only in such vouchers as may
be authorized and approved by the commissioner of veterans
affairs in the same manner and under the same restrictions as
are now provided by law for the disbursement of funds by the
commissioner.

new text begin (b) Notwithstanding paragraph (a) and section 16A.28, of
the appropriation to the state soldiers' assistance fund in any
biennium, the unexpended amount from the second year of the
biennium is carried forward to the first year of the following
biennium and is available until expended.
