  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; providing a rate increase 
  1.3             for a nursing facility in Brown county; appropriating 
  1.4             money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 
  1.5             256B.431, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 256B.431, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 29a.  [RATE INCREASES EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 
  1.10  2001.] Following the determination under this section of the 
  1.11  payment rate for the rate year beginning July 1, 2001, the case 
  1.12  mix class A operating payment rate for a facility in Brown 
  1.13  county licensed for 86 beds shall be increased to the median 
  1.14  case mix class A operating payment rate for the geographic group 
  1.15  to which the facility is assigned under Minnesota Rules, part 
  1.16  9549.0052, and the payment rate for all other case mix classes 
  1.17  shall be increased to the modified case mix class A rate 
  1.18  multiplied by the class weight for that case mix class 
  1.19  established in Minnesota Rules, part 9549.0058, subpart 3. 
  1.20     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.21     $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.22  commissioner of human services for the biennium beginning July 
  1.23  1, 2001, for the purposes of section 1.
