  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; providing an exemption 
  1.3             from the nursing facility spend-up and high cost 
  1.4             limits; amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 
  1.5             256B.431, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 256B.431, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 28.  [CHANGES TO NURSING FACILITY REIMBURSEMENT 
  1.10  BEGINNING JULY 1, 1999.] A nursing facility in Hennepin county 
  1.11  licensed for 134 beds on September 30, 1998, shall have the 
  1.12  prior year's allowable care-related per diem increased by $5.89 
  1.13  and the prior year's other operating cost per diem increased by 
  1.14  $2.53 before adding the inflation in subdivision 26, paragraph 
  1.15  (d), clause (2), for the rate year beginning on July 1, 1999.  
  1.16  For the rate year beginning July 1, 1999, the facility is exempt 
  1.17  from subdivision 26, paragraphs (a) and (b).
