  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; appropriating money to 
  1.3             mitigate flooding at Lake of the Isles.  
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $6,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of natural resources for a grant to the Minneapolis 
  1.8   park and recreation board to mitigate flooding at Lake of the 
  1.9   Isles in the city of Minneapolis.  Funds appropriated by this 
  1.10  section shall be used for shoreline stabilization and 
  1.11  restoration, dredging, wetland replacement, and other 
  1.12  infrastructure improvements necessary to deal with the 1997 
  1.13  flood damage and to prevent future flooding. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
