A bill for an act
relating to human services; clarifying child care helper and substitute caregiver
training requirements; amending Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 245A.50, by
adding subdivisions.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 245A.50, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin Notwithstanding any other law, helpers who
assist with care on a regular basis under direct supervision of the license holder are exempt
from training requirements under this section.

Sec. 2.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 245A.50, is amended by adding a subdivision to
read:

new text begin Emergency substitute caregiver training exemption. new text end

new text begin Notwithstanding any
other law, during an emergency, substitute caregivers are exempt from training requirements
under this section.
