A bill for an act
relating to state contracts; providing for a preference for vendors with certain
mental health benefits; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 16C.06,
subdivision 7.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 16C.06, subdivision 7, is amended to read:


Subd. 7.

Acquisition of goods and
services must be awarded according to the provisions of this chapter except thatnew text begin :new text end

new text begin (1) new text end a resident vendor shall be allowed a preference over a nonresident vendor from a
state that gives or requires a preference to vendors from that state. The preference shall be
equal to the preference given or required by the state of the nonresident vendornew text begin ; and

its employees shall be allowed a preference over a vendor that does not provide such
coverage or services
