  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to local government; authorizing Carlton 
  1.3             county to make a cemetery levy in and for Sawyer 
  1.4             unorganized township. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [CEMETERY LEVY FOR SAWYER BY CARLTON COUNTY.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [LEVY AUTHORIZED.] Notwithstanding other 
  1.8   law to the contrary, the Carlton county board of commissioners 
  1.9   may levy in and for the unorganized township of Sawyer an amount 
  1.10  up to $1,000 annually for cemetery purposes, beginning with 
  1.11  taxes payable in 2000 and ending with taxes payable in 2009. 
  1.12     Subd. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective June 
  1.13  1, 1999, without local approval.
