A bill for an act
relating to public safety; appropriating money for grants to mentor the children
of incarcerated parents.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin MENTORING GRANT FOR CHILDREN OF INCARCERATED
PARENTS; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $375,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010, and $375,000 for the fiscal
year ending June 30, 2011, are appropriated to the commissioner of public safety for
mentoring grants under Minnesota Statutes, section 241.86. This money is added to the
department's base budget.
