A bill for an act
relating to higher education; requiring various activities at Minnesota State
Colleges and Universities to assist students undecided on a major course of
study; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 136F.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin The board shall adopt policies to address the educational needs of students
undecided on a major course of study. For undecided students, the board must develop
curricula that provide for the greatest number of possible academic paths with the smallest
number of courses that do not count towards any given educational program. The board
must provide individual counseling to undecided students that provides information on
job placement rates of an institution's graduates in jobs related to the graduate's major
field of study and information on compensation earned by graduates in those jobs for the
five years following graduation.
