  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to Washington county; providing that certain 
  1.3             personal information on property taxpayers may be kept 
  1.4             from certain lists at the taxpayer's request. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [TAXPAYER'S PERSONAL INFORMATION; DISCLOSURE.] 
  1.7      (a) An owner of property in Washington county that is 
  1.8   subject to property taxation must be informed in a clear and 
  1.9   conspicuous manner in writing on a form sent to property 
  1.10  taxpayers that the property owner's name, address, and other 
  1.11  information may be used, rented, or sold for business purposes, 
  1.12  including surveys, marketing, and solicitation. 
  1.13     (b) If the property owner so requests on the form provided, 
  1.14  then any such list generated by the county and sold for business 
  1.15  purposes must exclude the owner's name and address. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [LOCAL APPROVAL REQUIRED.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective the day after the chief clerical 
  1.18  officer of Washington county complies with Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.19  section 645.021, subdivision 3.
