  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; authorizing grants to the 
  1.3             city of Ada to reimburse expenses in connection with 
  1.4             temporary financing in anticipation of FEMA financing 
  1.5             for 1997 flood recovery projects; appropriating money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      (a) $611,178 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.9   commissioner of trade and economic development for a grant to 
  1.10  the city of Ada to reimburse bond interest expenses in 
  1.11  connection with temporary financing in anticipation of financing 
  1.12  by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for 1997 flood 
  1.13  recovery work in the city of Ada.  The appropriation does not 
  1.14  cancel on June 30, 2001, but is available for the next biennium. 
  1.15     (b) $54,554 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.16  commissioner of trade and economic development for a grant to 
  1.17  the city of Ada to reimburse bond issuance costs in connection 
  1.18  with temporary financing in anticipation of financing by FEMA 
  1.19  for 1997 flood recovery work in the city of Ada.  The 
  1.20  appropriation does not cancel on June 30, 2001, but is available 
  1.21  for the next biennium. 
  1.22     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.23     Section 1 is effective the day following its final 
  1.24  enactment.
