A bill for an act
relating to veterans; establishing a veterans home in Beltrami County; proposing
coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 198.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Establishment. new text end

new text begin The commissioner shall establish a veterans home in
Beltrami County to provide at least 70 beds for skilled nursing care in conformance with
licensing rules of the Department of Health.

new text begin Funding. new text end

new text begin The home must be purchased or built with funds, 65 percent
of which must be provided by the federal government, and 35 percent by state or other
funding sources, including local units of government, veterans' organizations, and
corporations or other business entities.

new text begin Support services. new text end

new text begin Upon request, the Department of Human Services shall
arrange for the extension of support services to the veterans home in Beltrami County
including, but not limited to, the provision of utilities, and kitchen and laundry services.
