  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to water; requiring new landscape irrigation 
  1.3             systems to have rain checks; proposing coding for new 
  1.4             law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 103G. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [103G.298] [LANDSCAPE IRRIGATION SYSTEMS.] 
  1.7      A new automatically operated landscape irrigation system 
  1.8   must be installed with a device, commonly known as a rain check, 
  1.9   to prevent the system from being activated when a predetermined 
  1.10  amount of precipitation has accumulated. 
  1.11     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.12     Section 1 is effective July 1, 1999.
