A bill for an act
relating to construction codes; modifying the definition of townhouse; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 326B.103, by adding a subdivision.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Minnesota Statutes 2016, section 326B.103, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:
"Townhouse" means a single-family dwelling unit constructed
in a group of three or more attached units in which each unit extends from the foundation
to the roof and having open space on a least two sides of each unit. Each single-family
dwelling unit shall be considered to be a separate building. Separate building service utilities
shall be provided to each single-family dwelling unit when required by other chapters of
the State Building Code.
This section is effective the day following final enactment.
