  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to health; establishing a grant program in 
  1.3             the Minnesota department of health for nursing 
  1.4             facility technology rooms; appropriating money; 
  1.5             proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.6             chapter 144A. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [144A.185] [TECHNOLOGY ROOM GRANT PROGRAM.] 
  1.9      (a) Within the limits of appropriations made specifically 
  1.10  for this purpose, the commissioner shall make grants of up to 
  1.11  $25,000 to nursing facilities to configure and equip technology 
  1.12  rooms that accommodate computers with access to the Internet, 
  1.13  printers, and related electronic equipment. 
  1.14     (b) Nursing facilities reimbursed under section 256B.431 
  1.15  may accept a grant under paragraph (a) without reporting the 
  1.16  grant as revenue, provided the expenditure of the grant funds is 
  1.17  not reported as a cost. 
  1.18     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.19     $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.20  commissioner of health for the purposes of section 1, to be 
  1.21  available until June 30, 2001.
