relating to higher education; appropriating money for nursing education activities.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $3,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the Board of Trustees of the
Minnesota State Colleges and Universities for the fiscal biennium ending June 30, 2009,
for nursing education activities at two-year colleges, including curriculum redesign and
program redesign, which will increase the number of nurses graduating at the baccalaureate
and the graduate level, improve retention of underrepresented students in nursing and
allied health fields, and support new technology equipment in allied health programs.
