  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to public administration; changing the terms 
  1.3             and conditions of a state appropriation; amending Laws 
  1.4             1994, chapter 643, section 2, subdivision 12. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Laws 1994, chapter 643, section 2, subdivision 
  1.7   12, is amended to read: 
  1.8   Subd. 12.  Hopkins Performing
  1.9   Arts Center                                             500,000
  1.10  This appropriation is for a grant to 
  1.11  the city of Hopkins to acquire and 
  1.12  better a performing arts center, 
  1.13  subject to new Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.14  section 16A.695. 
  1.15  This appropriation is not available 
  1.16  until the commissioner has determined 
  1.17  that the necessary additional financing 
  1.18  to complete a $3,100,000 $4,260,000 
  1.19  project has been committed by nonstate 
  1.20  sources. 
  1.21  Notwithstanding the provisions of 
  1.22  Minnesota Statutes, section 16B.335, 
  1.23  subdivision 3, the city of Hopkins may 
  1.24  proceed to final design without the 
  1.25  submission of a predesign packet. 
  1.26     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.27     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
