A bill for an act
relating to education finance; creating a financial incentive for school districts
to share superintendents; appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes
2006, section 123B.143, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 123B.143, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Each school district that shares a
superintendent under subdivision 1 is annually eligible for state aid equal to $30,000.

new text begin This section is effective for revenue for fiscal year 2008.

Sec. 2. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

general fund to the commissioner of education for payment of shared superintendent
aid under section 1.
