  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to insurance; no-fault auto; regulating 
  1.3             priorities of coverage for taxis; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1994, section 65B.47, subdivision 1a. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 65B.47, 
  1.7   subdivision 1a, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 1a.  [EXEMPTIONS.] Subdivision 1 does not apply to:  
  1.9      (1) a commuter van; 
  1.10     (2) a vehicle being used to transport children as part of a 
  1.11  family or group family day care program; 
  1.12     (3) a vehicle being used to transport children to school or 
  1.13  to a school-sponsored activity; or 
  1.14     (4) a bus while it is in operation within the state of 
  1.15  Minnesota as to any Minnesota resident who is an insured as 
  1.16  defined in section 65B.43, subdivision 5; or 
  1.17     (5) a taxi. 
  1.18     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.19     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
