  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to historic sites; providing a grant to the 
  1.3             city of Maplewood to relocate certain historic farm 
  1.4             buildings; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [HISTORIC BUILDING RELOCATION APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $300,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   Minnesota historical society for a grant to the city of 
  1.9   Maplewood to pay up to 75 percent of the costs of acquiring 
  1.10  land, developing a site, relocating certain buildings onto the 
  1.11  site, and renovating the buildings.  The buildings to be 
  1.12  acquired, relocated, and renovated are the home, barn, granary, 
  1.13  and windmill on the Bruentrup farm site, the last working farm 
  1.14  in Ramsey county.  The grant must not be made until the director 
  1.15  of the Minnesota historical society has determined that the 
  1.16  necessary additional financing to complete the project has been 
  1.17  committed by nonstate sources.  The appropriation is available 
  1.18  until June 30, 2000. 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.20     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
